Maybe a Cure

A couple of days ago, about 31st May/1st June 2015, it was announced on the news that trials had been conducted and they may have found treatment for skin cancer.  Trials have been conducted and so far the results have shown a vast improvement in patients - shrinking the tumour (improvements in 60% of patients) and it actually has extended life of some patients. Also within these trials they have found that it seem to have had an  affect on lung, kidney, bowel and a few other cancers.  This is great news, although it is still in 'trial' period it obviously has been going long enough for this news to be announced.  Needless to say that the cost for these drugs are astronomical and would be out of the question for the NHS to supply (disgraceful!) - you are dealing with people's lives here.  In time the price must come down.  Due to these drugs they would hope in 5 years or so there would be no need for chemo treatment.  This is really great news for the future, truly. It just seems a double blow to me that it comes just 18 months from when we lost you.  Deep down, I know that these 'break throughs' have to come at some point.  It just hurts. You were a kind hearted person in that respect and I know you would probably say 'well that's the way it goes'. If you were suffering with it now I would be over the moon that there might have been a 'cure' for you. Always thinking of you and love you lots xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
