Well George, as Adam has spoken to you and you no doubt know, he asked Lucy to get engaged yesterday, 11th March 2017. They had gone to Venice for a couple of days - a belated birthday trip for Lucy's birthday from last year.  he had spoken to me about it beforehand, so i did know that it might happen. They have been together for about 3 years.  You would like her. She is a very  nice person, mixes in well with all the family, knows Adam's bad points as well as his good and is very supportive and helpful to him and it is very clear that she loves him very much. It goes without saying that he loves her as well as otherwise this wouldn't be happening.

It is a very happy occasion but I cannot tell you how hard these times are to deal with as you are not here to share them physically with me because you would have been so pleased and happy.
