Ewan has now been at his new school for a few months.  You would be so proud of him as they have written to Geraldine and Simon saying that he is in the top 5% in his year and they consider him to be gifted and talented in his science subject (not sure what area of science).  They obviously encourage these children and push them harder in their work.  As you know when he was at his primary school because he was good in the science subject he was in just a handful of children picked to go to a university in Oxford for the day.  It is so upsetting that you are not here to see this - he misses you so much, especially at times like these when he could talk to you about it.  I'm sure you are aware of what is going on with everyone so you do probably know but we are unable to talk to you about it.  Your enthusiasm in these things always shone through with our own children as well as our grandchildren. 

Liam is doing extremely well with his spellings - achieving 8, 9 and 10 out of 10 for his spellings so he is improving with that.  Not that he didn't know how to do them - but you know Liam - can't always be 'bothered' to learn them!  It is improving - when he wants to.
