Yesterday, 6th September 2016, was Ewan's first day at his new school, Queensbury. He looks very smart in his new uniform.  Start of a new era (without you - you would, as always, be so so proud of him) and we are all very proud of him.  As usual and understandable, he was nervous but I spoke to him the night before he started and texted him in the evening of his first day and he did seem ok.  He said that he had had a really good day, he enjoyed it and everything went well.  He is walking to school with his friend and then back again with the friend so all ok there. He is more nervous about not finding his classroom than anything else.  Going up to 'big'  school is so different to the one you've been at for your first years, but it is all part of the 'growing up' process and everything changes.  I know that you will be with him and know how he is getting on.  He will be out of his 'comfort zone' for a while.  In your lower school you end up being the 'big fish in a small pond - but in the bigger school, you are the 'small fish in a big pond'.  Everyone has to go through it and he will be fine - he has a loving, supportive family around him - as we all do.
