Ewan's trip to Caldecote

Well, you may know that Ewan went on a Monday to Friday trip with Lark Rise to Caldecote with the other children.  It was an 'adventure holdiday' for the children that will be leaving the school this year.  He had a very good time, abseiling, climbing, canoening, bar-b-queing etc etc.   George, you know what Ewan is like, he likes things in order - well apparently he enjoyed the activities but perhaps not the 'camping' part of it.  They were in tents and jits(?) - and it rained - and he got wet and wasn't so keen on that (ring any bells !!??) Bless him, he got in a state over that with his cloths as they had to take quiet a few changes for different things.

Geraldine rang to let me know how he'd got on and it was very upsetting.  The teachers' that he has all think very highly of him (well of course they do - he's our family!) One of the teachers was talking to the group and pointing out a few of the things Ewan has done and one of them was when Ewan was talking to the class about Star Wars. Another teacher went canoeing with him as he could see Ewan felt uncomfortable about it, (was that your doing -  looking after him?) Another teacher said that Ewan was kind, considerate and well behaved, good manners - he told Ewan that would get him far.........I am so proud of him and it is so, so upsetting because if you were here your chest would be so 'puffed up' with pride also - as it was so many times with your own children. I really, really do hope you can see all this and you know just how they are doing and what is going on - I would feel a bit better if I knew you were aware of it all because I know how much it all would have meant to you and also how much it meant to all of us for you to be part of things that went on in our lives.
Love you so so much as always and miss you so much xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
